ACTIVE CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

Active Chapter Membership: New members and renewals can be processed in one transaction through the IAAI International website: https://www.firearson.com/membership/ If applying for a new membership or renewal through the International website, be sure to add the Washington State Chapter when processing your application.

New and renewal members may process their memberships independently by processing their International Membership through the IAAI website and their Chapter Membership through our Chapter website. Our Chapter encourages membership in both the International and Chapter.

Washington Chapter ONLY Membership: Chapter-only new and renewal memberships are no longer processed by IAAI International. Chapter-only memberships can only be processed through the Washington State Chapter website.

ASSOCIATE, RETIREE, & STUDENT CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

Chapter Associate, Retiree, and Student Memberships: New and renewal Associate, Retiree, and Student memberships can only be processed through the IAAI Washington State Chapter website. Associate, Retiree, and Student Chapter Members have the same privileges and benefits as Active Chapter Members, but may not hold office or vote.

HONORARY LIFE CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

The Chapter Board of Directors may bestow Honorary Life Chapter Membership in accordance with the Chapter's Constitution and By-Laws. The Chapter recognizes the Honorary Life Chapter Members here.

Active Chapter Membership - $40.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Renew automatically Any representative of government, or of a government agency, or of a business or industrial concern, who is actively engaged in some phase of fire and explosion/arson investigation or prevention, or administration of justice at the time the representative makes application shall be eligible for Active Chapter Membership, provided that such person possesses all other qualifications for membership set forth in the Chapter Bylaws and is not less than eighteen years of age. Active Chapter Members shall have the right to vote on Chapter business and have the right to hold office. Active Chapter Membership requires international membership in the International Association of Arson Investigators.

Associate Chapter Membership - $40.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Renew automatically Applicants not qualified for Active Chapter Membership may be admitted to the Chapter as Associate Chapter Members, at the discretion of the Board of Directors, after due consideration of the applicants’ application and qualifications. Those seeking Associate Chapter Membership should have some background related to or connected to fire investigations. Associate Chapter Members shall have all of the privileges of an Active Chapter Member, with the exceptions of voting and holding office. The Chapter may, by majority vote of Active Chapter Members present, exclude Associate Chapter Members from any particular Chapter meeting.

Retiree Chapter Membership - $10.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st Renew automatically Retiree Chapter Membership is available to Active Chapter Members in good standing if the Active Chapter Member retires and is no longer actively working in any phase of fire and arson investigation or administration of justice. Retiree Chapter Membership is also available to Members who are permanently disabled due to job-related injuries. If a Retiree Chapter Member becomes employed in fire investigation again, membership must be promptly upgraded to Active Chapter Membership. Retiree Chapter Members cannot vote on Chapter business and are not eligible to hold Chapter office.

Student Chapter Membership - $10.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Renew automatically Student Chapter Membership is available to those currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited post-secondary institution pursuing a degree in fire science, fire investigation, the administration of justice, or a related field of study, and who are not currently working in a paid position in the fire investigation field. Student Chapter Membership requires the individual to hold Student Membership status with the International Association of Arson Investigators. Student Chapter Members cannot vote on Chapter business and are not eligible to hold Chapter office.
